St. Bernadette’s Catholic Primary School

St. Bernadette’s Catholic Primary School

Welcome

St Bernadette’s is a community where everyone is valued, nurtured and encouraged to fulfil their God-given talents. We are blessed with a vibrant, multicultural community and enjoy the opportunity to continuously learn from each other and develop together. We offer our pupils a broad and balanced curriculum with rich and varied opportunities to put into practice our strong Christian values, through active involvement in charity work, prayer, and plentiful access to spiritual and social activities. We very much hope that the parents and carers of the pupils entrusted to our care will become involved in the life of the school. Accordingly, we look forward to working closely with you. Information about how to apply for a school place at St Bernadette’s can be found via the ‘About Us’ – School Admissions tab.

Our Vision Statement

St Bernadette’s Catholic Primary School is a welcoming school with a caring, friendly and supportive staff.  Our primary aim is to foster an environment in which each child can reach his/her full potential, spiritually, socially, emotionally, intellectually and physically so that each child may lead a healthy, productive and meaningful life.

The Governing Board, in conjunction with school leaders and stakeholders have set the vision for our school (July 2020):

  1. A school that continues to put Pupil Safeguarding at the centre of all that we do, including Strategies for coping with COVID-19
  2. A school that aspires to excellence in Teaching and judged by OFSTED to be at least “Good with some Outstanding features” across all areas including Leadership and Governance
  3. A school that Values its staff – their Mental Health and Wellbeing and seeking to alleviate unnecessary workload and ensure that Strategies for coping with COVID-19 continue to put staff safety at the forefront of our COVID-19 Plans
  4. A school that recruits develops and retains the best teachers to provide the best education for our pupils.
  5. A school that inspires children and young people to achieve and grow through the delivery of outstanding teaching and learning
  6. A school that benchmarks itself against the best.
  7.  A school that builds resilient young people ready and able to engage with the next steps on their Educational and faith journey through life.
  8. A school that is actively involved in teacher training programmes and initiatives such as our own “grow your own” pilot scheme to address the potential shortfall in Catholic Teachers
